Armada ARV (2011) Skis
Positive camber gives the ARV a traditional all-mountain feel. It's lively edge-to-edge, stable through the arc of any turn, and has plenty of width to perform in the deep stuff.
Features
ABS SidewallThis construction method creates the highest performance skis Armada offer. Two strips of ABS material lie directly alongside the core and over the skis edges, providing unequalled edge hold, core protection, and stability.
Double Zone CoreThe high density wood stringers sit along ultralight wood creating a light core with pop and solid edge hold, while keeping swing and overall weight down.
Positive CamberTraditional camber engages the tip and tail of the ski, enhancing ease of entry and exit into and out of a turn, while maintaining solid edge hold.
50/50 BaseAs the name implies, the 50/50 is faster than the S7 and more rugged than the Comp Series bases.
CK StringerA blend of Carbon/Kevlar stringers that run along the tail of the ski to help stabilize it. This creates a better landing platform, especially when your weight is further back than you intended. It also increases snap and adds pop to ollies.
Laminate MatrixArmada know from the core out exactly how each ski should react, so three kinds of fibreglass laminates are used in combination to deliver the exact amount of flex and torsional rigidity. Bi-axial fibreglass runs in an "X" pattern down the ski to control lateral flex. Uni-directional fibreglass controls flex along the length of the ski. And tri-axial fibreglass, with fibres running in three directions, beefs up the centre of the ski. The permutations of the three fibreglasses are nearly limitless and allow Armada to precision tune the performance of every ski they make.
2.5 Impact EdgeThis edge had and oversized height and width and the steel is heat-treated to a proprietary hardness which helps resist breaking and tearing out from the rails, ledges and any other abuse it might meet.
